The Coach House Gallery is proud to host a Contemporary Textiles Exhibition, “Fresh Thinking: The Art of the Needle”, showcasing new work by The Guernsey Contemporary Textile Artists. The Coach House Gallery is open daily from 7th May, including Sundays 11 – 5, until June 15th.
The exhibition is collaboration between seven textile practitioners who live on Guernsey. They meet once a week to offer each other support and to share their passion for using fabric and thread.
The group aim to provide an interesting and stimulating exhibition of abstract and landscape art with felted 2D and 3D work, alongside traditional and contemporary quilts. The work in the show will feature a range of techniques including appliqué, hand and machine embroidery, felting, printing and dyeing that have been used to produce a wide range of effects.
This is a not to be missed opportunity, for a visual feast of colour and texture. Be sure to visit the exhibition which opened in May and runs until June 15th.
